Turning Point is currently seeking a Primary Counselor for Outpatient Services in our Paterson office location. Turning Point provides care to adults seeking sobriety and recovery. We are committed to providing compassionate and effective treatment for alcoholism, drug addiction and their co-occurring disorders.
Complete all appropriate assessments
Develop treatment plans
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with clients.
Coordinate/Complete transition/discharge planning
Present didactic sessions on chemical dependency and other related issues.
Document clinical sessions using the D.A.P. method on the day services are delivered.
Perform family counseling as needed. Refer to Family Therapist as appropriate
Act as Case Manager for assigned clients.
Perform all reporting and record keeping the day services are delivered in accordance with Turning Point policy.
Participate in weekly case conference/supervision meetings.
Coordinate discharge planning for caseload clients.
Screen clients and determine appropriateness of intake based on DSM, ASAM, and agency criteria.
Candidates holding the CADC,LAC, LSW preferred with strong knowledge of 12 Step Programs and 2 years counseling experience which includes assessment, treatment and discharge planning.
