Turning Point is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant that will work under the direction of the Director of Nursing in Residential Admissions and Detox Departments performing duties required of the practice.
Assist RN in obtaining vital signs on all detox clients
Performs and documents weekly vital signs on all residential clients needing blood pressure monitoring as directed by RN
Orients new detox clients to unit, room assignment and introducing to detox staff and peers
Answers phone in medical unit and directs inquiries to appropriate staff
Collects and prepares specimens as directed by RN
Files paperwork as needed
Supports patient care delivery by assisting RN in various duties
Assists clients who are in need of help in self-care, bed making, walking etc.
Assists RN by retrieving residential clients for MD and assisting MD as needed
Performs 2nd step PPD on residential clients, verifies results and documents in client record
Prepares needed detox paperwork for each client’s admission
Assists RN in verifying results and documenting urine drug screens when obtained
Participate in committee’s as appointed
Attend all quarterly and departmental staff meeting
Reports all pertinent information to DON/RN
Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor/RN

Current Medical Assistant certification
Knowledge of chemical dependence and 12 Step programs
If recovering alcoholic/addict no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug use for four years
Electronic Health Record Experience, Computer literate preferred.
Possess a valid NJ Driver’s License
